Why we need feminist pastors!

Here’s a great list from the Young Women’s Clergy Project, about the top ten reason we (still) need feminist pastors.  Have some reasons of your own to add?

Sarah Palin – discuss!

September 3, 2008 · Leave a Comment

So, we have a second woman on a major presidential ticket, even closer to the spot of the presidency than before because of McCain’s ill health.

  • Is this a triumph for women or another example of women being exploited for capitalist men’s political gain?
  • Is this a sign of women’s equality that Big Oil Men can now be female, too?
  • Is this progress now that (warped) affirmative action can boost a woman into executive office – but on the Republican ticket?
  • Is this anything but bizarre that a woman who has governed pushing policies that would insert the government into private family decisions about sexuality and family planning is now demanding privacy for her own family’s matters?
  • Are any of us excited that, with one swift veep announcement, the “culture wars” have been thoroughly reinserted into a campaign that had so far largely avoided it?
  • Is there more going on here than I’m seeing?

P.S. Interesting little rant here. Some of the comments are better than the article: “‘Liberals’ are not angry about Bristol and her situation. We’re sadly resigned to the fact that her mother’s policies are pretty much completely to blame.”
